Arjuna Ranatunga, captain of Sri Lanka’s 1996 cricket World Cup winning side and now petroleum minister in ousted prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s government, was accused of ordering his bodyguards to shoot as a group loyal to President Maithripala Sirisena attacked him. One man was killed in the firing.
